Your first time downloading the Binance App should be split into five steps: identify the official site, download the installer, install correctly, log in to an account, and configure security. Skip the order and, at best, you install the wrong version; at worst, your account gets stolen. The safe starting point is getting the genuine download link from the Binance Official Site and then completing a series of configurations through the Binance Official App. Apple users need to read the iOS Install Guide. Below, we walk through each step in order.
Step 1: Identify the Official Website
Before downloading you must be sure of the official site. Many new users skip this step, but it is the only step in the whole flow that depends 100% on your own judgment; every other step is just following procedures.
Manually Type It in Your Browser
Open a browser and type binance.com in the address bar directly. Don't use a search engine, and don't click a link someone sent you. Once the page loads, the address bar should show https://www.binance.com with a padlock icon.
Look at Page Details
The real site's logo is a gold diamond-shaped "B," and fonts, layout, and images are polished with no misalignment. The footer has company information and compliance disclosures. If you see rough layout, typos, or a strange logo, close it immediately.
Bookmark the Correct Entry
Once confirmed, press Ctrl+D (or Cmd+D) to bookmark. Enter from bookmarks afterwards, avoiding a risky search every time.
Step 2: Download the Installer
Once you're on the correct official site, the next step is selecting the installer for your device.
Find the Download Page
The footer usually has a "Downloads" or "Download" link that leads to the download center. The top nav may also have an "App" menu that jumps straight there.
Choose by Device
- Android phones: click Android, then choose "Download APK directly" (~85MB) or redirect to Google Play
- iPhone / iPad: click iOS, which redirects to the App Store (~200MB)
- Mac: click Mac and download the .dmg (~148MB)
- Windows PC: click Windows and download the .exe (~96MB)
During the Download
Once the browser starts downloading, don't pause. Keep the network stable. Big-file downloads can resume after a break, but on a first-time install it's best to finish in one pass to reduce the chance of error.
Verify Integrity (Optional but Recommended)
Once the download finishes, compare the file against the SHA256 hash shown on the official page. Commands:
- Windows:
certutil -hashfile <filename> SHA256 - Mac:
shasum -a 256 <filename>
Matching hashes mean the file is intact; if they don't match, delete and re-download.
Step 3: Install Correctly
Installation differs by platform, so follow the steps for yours.
Installing the Android APK
- Find the APK in File Manager and tap it
- The system shows an "unknown sources" warning; tap Settings → Allow from this source
- Go back and tap Install; wait 5–30 seconds
- When it completes, tap Open
- Return to system settings and turn off "Allow from unknown sources"
Installing on iOS
- Download from the App Store and it installs directly
- The Binance icon appears on the home screen
- On first launch you need to accept permission requests (notifications, camera)
Installing on Mac
- Double-click the .dmg file to mount it
- Drag the Binance icon into the Applications folder
- On first launch, macOS may flag "unidentified developer"; allow it in System Preferences → Security & Privacy
- Launch normally
Installing on Windows
- Double-click the .exe to run the installer
- Windows Defender or SmartScreen may flag "unknown publisher"
- Click "Run anyway" (since you've confirmed it's an official download)
- Click Next through the dialogs and choose an install location
- Wait 1–2 minutes to finish
Step 4: Log In or Register
Once installed, open the App to the login screen.
Existing Users Log In Directly
Enter your email or phone number and your password. The system may require 2FA or SMS verification. First-time login on a new device will always trigger security verification, which is normal protective behavior.
New Users Register
Tap "Register" and fill in as prompted:
- Email (use a regular mailbox, not a temporary one)
- Password (at least 8 characters, upper + lower case + number + special character)
- Referral code (optional; entering one may yield a fee discount)
- CAPTCHA (drag the slider puzzle)
- Email verification code (check your inbox and enter it)
Once registered, the system prompts you to do KYC.
Complete Basic KYC
- Select your country/region
- Enter your real name and ID information
- Upload photos of your ID
- Complete liveness detection (blink and turn your head in front of the camera)
Basic KYC review usually takes anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. Once approved, you can trade more coins and your withdrawal limit increases.
Step 5: Security Configuration
This is the most critical step; it directly determines your account's security level.
Enable 2FA
Two options:
- Google Authenticator (recommended): generates dynamic codes offline, strong anti-phishing
- SMS 2FA: convenient but carries SIM-swap risk
We recommend binding Google Authenticator first and using SMS 2FA as a backup.
Set an Anti-Phishing Code
Find "Anti-Phishing Code" in security settings and set a string that only you recognize (for example, MyBN_2026). From then on, every email Binance sends you will include that string — anything without it is a fake.
Enable the Withdrawal Whitelist
Add your own external wallet addresses to the whitelist. With the whitelist on, even if your password is stolen, the attacker can only withdraw to addresses you've allowed, greatly reducing losses.
Enable In-App Biometrics
In App settings, turn on "Require biometrics when opening the App." From then on, every time you open the App, fingerprint or Face ID is required — you're protected even if you lose your phone.
Record Your Backup Codes
When you bind 2FA, a 16-digit set of backup codes is displayed. Write them down on paper and keep them in a safe place. If your phone is lost or reset, the backup codes are the only credential to recover 2FA.
Time Estimate for the Complete Flow
| Step | Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Identify the official site | 1 min | Only trust binance.com |
| Download the installer | 1–5 min | Depends on network speed |
| Install the App | 1–2 min | Android needs unknown-source permission |
| Register an account | 3–5 min | Email verification takes a moment |
| Basic KYC | 5–30 min | Review may queue |
| Security setup | 5–10 min | 2FA and whitelist |
| Total | 15–50 min | — |
Running the whole flow takes at most 1 hour to go from zero to a fully configured and securely set-up account.
Pitfalls to Avoid
Pitfall 1: Clicking the Top Search Result
The top search result may be a paid ad or a copycat site. You must type binance.com manually or use bookmarks.
Pitfall 2: Downloading a Third-Party "Enhanced" Version
Any Binance App claiming "KYC-free," "high-speed edition," or "cracked" is phishing. The official release has only one version.
Pitfall 3: Skipping 2FA
If after registering you think "let me have a look around first" and start depositing before binding 2FA, it's extremely dangerous. 2FA belongs in the first batch of things you do, not the last.
Pitfall 4: Not Saving the Backup Codes
Many people glance at the 2FA backup codes and close the page. The moment the phone is lost, they can't recover 2FA at all. Backup codes must be physically written down and stored.
Pitfall 5: Completing Registration on Public Wi-Fi
Registration and KYC involve sensitive information. Use your own Wi-Fi or 4G/5G — never airport, café, or hotel public networks.
Your First Deposit After Install
With the prep above done, you can run a first deposit test.
Small Amount First
From another exchange or wallet, transfer a small amount (say 10 USDT) to Binance to confirm the flow works. Don't move all your assets at once.
Confirm Arrival Before Adding More
Once the small amount arrives without issues, send the larger amount. It's worth the extra miner fee to pay for safety.
Pick the Right Network
USDT has multiple networks — TRC20, ERC20, BEP20 — and the sender's network and receiver's network must match, or the assets can be lost.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I Start Trading Without KYC?
A no-KYC account can only do extremely limited operations, and many coins can't be traded. We strongly recommend completing KYC.
My Phone Warned About a Virus During Install. What Do I Do?
If you downloaded from the official site and the SHA256 matches, the warning is most likely the system's default caution for "unknown sources" — not a real virus. Install with confidence.
How Long After Registration Can I Start Trading?
Once KYC is approved. Usually 5 minutes to a few hours. After you deposit and funds arrive, you can place orders.
What If I Accidentally Entered My Credentials on a Fake Site?
Immediately go to the real official site, change your password, enable 2FA, and check API Keys and the whitelist. The faster you act, the smaller the loss.
The App Installed but Won't Open
First check whether it's running in the background and restart your phone. Then check whether the App version is compatible with your OS. If it won't open long-term, reinstall.
